What we offer

  • Entrepreneurial spirit: The Green Office Maastricht is the first institution of its kind in the Netherlands, and maybe even in Europe. You will be among the entrepreneurs and directly involved in the establishment of the office. Your work will have an impact on generations of students to come.
  • Team work: An interesting and friendly team is waiting to closely work together with you.
  • Flexibility: Working in the Green Office allows you to schedule part of your working hours yourself – besides the regular office hours you will be scheduled for. Academic schedules are taken into consideration.
  • Realize your ideas: The Green Office provides you with a lot of free space to unfold your ideas and to show initiative. Taking initiative and responsibility is absolutely required from you and the functioning of the Green Office.
  • Learning by doing: The transition of our economies and societies towards a sustainable future is going to be a driving force for innovation and job creation in the 21st century. The Green Office is not only an amazing learning experience for Maastricht University, but also for yourself.

What we are looking for

  • Commitment: Being part of the Green Office team means anything else than working a 9-to-5 job. You should see your weekly working hours as a minimum standard and be motivated to invest additional time. Greening this university is an impressive challenge requiring a dedicated commitment from everybody. In this regard, you may see your position in the Green Office also as a paid volunteer engagement.
  • Education: You are preferably in the second or third year of your bachelor or are doing a Master or PhD at Maastricht University. You will be in Maastricht for the whole duration of your contract (minimum one year). Studies in the field of sustainability are an advantage.
  • Experience: Previous experience with project management and leadership, as you will be working independently on projects. You should also have a prior knowledge of (practical) sustainability issues and be willing to learn more in this regard.
  • Vision & Focus: Many people have good ideas, but few are able to implement them. You have both, the ideas as well as the endurance and motivation to realize them.
  • Team-player: You will be working in a team of 7 employees. Full reliability, good communication and effective working habits are a clear must.
